First Things First

 

• I write HONEST reviews, whether an author requested that I read his/her book or I personally bought the book. If you request a review, and I read your book and don't like it, sorry but I am going to be honest with my readers. I promise it is nothing personal. It should be taken as constructive criticism. I always try to include at least one thing I liked about any book I review anyway. 

• I DO NOT and WILL NOT accept money in exchange for reviews.

• Please read this guide before sending a request :). 

 

Format of Reviews

 

My reviews always have "what I liked" and "What I disliked/ didn't like as much" sections. In addition to the blurb, sometimes I will add a summary of the story in my own words. Also, I like to add extras such as GIFs that explain my feelings while reading the book, songs the book reminds me of, related artwork and more. The reviews are not restricted to these dimensions only, if I feel like a certain book needs a new format I will change up the format. 

 

Rating System

 

I do not follow a rating system such as the star rating system. This is simply because when I am reviewing I am only stating my opinion. A 5 star book to me may be a 1 star book to someone else, so instead of rating the book I tell you why I liked it or why I disliked it and the rest is up to you. I give my opinion based on many factors.

 Some of the factors I take into consideration are but not limited to: 

1. Character Development

2. Pace of the story

3. Plotline

4. Plot twists

5. Creativity

6. Cohesiveness

7. Dialogue

 

Genres I read

 

I read most genres as long as the book is interesting and include some of the factors I mentioned above. Some of my favourite genres are dystopian, romance, mystery, YA, urban fantasy and more. 

 

Genres I do not read

 

I do not read overly religious books, erotica, childern's books, illustrative books and self help books. Sorry but any review requests about any of these genres will be rejected. 

 

Format of Review Request

 

If after reading all the information above, you think your book might interest me, please include the following information in your request. 

 

1. Book Title

2. Author

3. Genre

4. Length

5. Format of the book (paperback, PDF, EPUB , etc.)

6. Blurb

7. Link to your book on Amazon, Goodreads, etc.

 

Including this in your request will let me know if your book is the right book for me or not. Any request that does not have any of these will not be considered.

You can also send me a message on Wix or a DM on twitter but if I do accept your ebook, I will request that you send me a copy via email. 

 

One more thing! if you want to have an author interview as well as a book review, please mention so in the email. 

 

Reasons for Declining a Request

 

There are two main reasons. One possible reason is that your book is a genre that I do not read, especially if it is one of the genres I mentioned above. If the book is in a genre I like but does not interest me I will not review it because that is unfair to the author and the book. 

The second reason is time constraints. If I have a lot of books in line from other authors requesting a review and books I bought, I will unfortunately not be able to accept your request. However, I will always reply to your emails and will let you know when you can send another request when I am accepting submissions.
